Laminate
In the fabrication of our custom laminate tops, which includes the square, bevel and wood edges we use ¾” particle board for the substrate and the banding giving you a 1 ½” thick top. To help against warping we put a backer sheet on the bottom side of the countertop. The post formed laminate tops, which include the full-wrap ogee, contemporary ogee, modern drop ogee, double radius, bullnose, waterfall and no-drip edges, use ¾” particle board for the substrate and 5/8” particle board for the banding giving you a 1 3/8” thick top. These tops also have the backer sheet on the bottom side of the countertop. Our most popular laminate colors come from Formica, Wilsonart, Nevamar and Pionite. Solid Surface
Solid surface countertops are fabricated from a man made nonporous material that gives you the appearance of being seamless. Because they are nonporous, stains can not penetrate the surface, therefore with proper cleaning solid surface countertops do not promote the growth of mold and mildew. Sheets of solid surface material are glued together to form 1 ½” thick edges. Solid surface sinks and backsplashes can be integrated to create the illusion of a seamless countertop. Undermount or drop-in sinks are also an option. Solid surface countertops are renewable, meaning scratches and marks can be buffed out. The solid surface colors come from Corian by Dupont, Formica solid surface, Wilsonart solid surface and LG Hi-Macs.
